Jan. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Sebastian Barry won the Costa Novel Award for “The Secret Scripture,” the study of a blighted life, while Diana Athill took Costa’s biography prize for “Somewhere Towards the End,” a reflection on life, old age and death.
